Google Labs に 「My Search History (Beta)」 が追加されました。
My Search History lets you easily view and manage your search history from any computer. This feature of Google web search enables you to find information you thought you lost. And over time, you'll see an increasing number of relevance indicators in your search results that help you find the information you want.
Gmail アカウントでログインすると、検索フォームのほかにカレンダーが表示され、日付ごとに過去の検索履歴にアクセスすることができます。さらにカレンダーの日付の色で日別の検索頻度もわかります。
過去に検索したキーワードは時間がたつと結構忘れているもので、「この前見つけたあのサイトってどこだっけ......」みたいな時に結構便利かもしれません。
ただ、検索サービスがパーソナルサーチの方向に向かいつつある中、同時に検索結果や訪問したサイトの履歴が情報として蓄積されていく状況は、プライバシーに敏感な人にとってはあまり気持ちの良いものではないのかもしれません。
今回の My Search History にも検索結果から訪れたサイトを記録し、ユーザーがサイトを見つけやすくする機能が実装されていますが好き嫌いの分かれるところです。
